Terminology

  1. Reefer = refrigerator truck
  2. L/T/L = less than truckload
  3. Van = enclosed "box" trailer with doors on the rear; the type most commonly seen on the highway
  4. Deadhead = term used to describe "empty" miles between the last delivery and the next pick-up
